Ibn Battouta spent most of his life travelling around the world, meeting new people and learning about cultures and places. Starting his travels at the age of 21 heading to Mecca, he continued on to Jerusalem, Persia, Iraq, Yemen, Ethiopia, Mogadishu, India, and several other countries, then back home to Morocco at the age of 50. Ibn Battouta occupied a variety of positions during his trips, and left a great book where he talks about his journeys and all the cultures and places he acquainted.
